Although a newcomer to the online advertising arena – video ad spend accounts for a very small percentage of the $20 billion online ad spend in the USA – the search engine is keen to see its pay per click offerings evolve into video offerings. Advertisers wanting to show their ads in video segments will be able to choose from rotating text offerings or video ads to appear in a small corner of the viewer. Called AdSense for Video, the inititiave is also good news for web publishers, upping the potential revenue from their AdSense account.
